You may have seen the large wooden structures where children can run, jump and climb. These allow children to play freely and take risks, knowing that friendly staff are there to help if needed. The playgrounds are fenced in and children can come and go after school, sometimes on Saturdays and during the school
holidays. |

Most adventure playgrounds have quiet places for children to read, or do homework; many have computers, and some have after school clubs, youth clubs for teenagers or a meeting space for parent and toddler groups.
